Burl's Creek Information
Sound Management 2018 Process
Beginning in 2015, the Township began a sound monitoring program for large scale special events at Burls Creek. Based on the information gathered and findings to date, sound levels and times for the Boots and Hearts festivals are included in the 2018 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), along with controls for enforcement. Monitoring will be ongoing throughout the Boots and Hearts festival, onsite at Burl’s Creek.
Township of Oro-Medonte Municipal Law Enforcement Officers will be monitoring sound levels to ensure compliance with the 2018 MOU. Compliance will be enforced by Township staff in accordance with the 2018 MOU. Any potential actions will be finalized before the expiry date of the Memorandum of Understanding.
Part of the sound management process enabled residents to provide sound concerns. Every concern received through the dedicated phone line and email during the Boots and Hearts festival will be reviewed by Township Municipal Law Enforcement Officers. Municipal Law Enforcement Officer will attend locations onsite and off-site throughout Boots and Hearts to investigate these concerns.
For sound level concerns, leave a message at 705-487-4025 with your name, phone number, street address, time of call and brief description. Staff will investigate your concern and will return your call only where more information is required. For these concerns DO NOT call 9-1-1, that service is for emergencies only.
