2026 Election
The next Municipal and School Board Election will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026. The Clerk is responsible for preparing and conducting the Municipal Election, held every four years, in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act.
The 2026 election will be conducted through internet and telephone voting. Eligible electors will be provided with a specified number of days to vote during the voting period (duration of voting period to be announced). This means eligible electors in the Township can cast their ballot anytime over the specified voting period, from any available internet location, including the comfort of their own home.
Electronic Voting Centres will be scheduled at a specific time and location during the voting period for those eligible electors who may require assistance or wish to cast their electronic vote in-person. Specific electronic voting centre dates, times and locations to be announced.
By-law 2025-92 and By-law 2025-093
Please note that under By-laws 2025-092 ward boundaries and 2025-093 Council Composition (electoral positions) have changed within the Township of Oro-Medonte.
Elected positions for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Trustee election are as follows:
- One Mayor – elected at large
- One Deputy Mayor – elected at large
- Five (5) ward Councillors (one per ward)
- School Board Trustee(s)
The next four-year term is from November 15, 2026 to November 14, 2030.
Nominations
In accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 Nominations may be filed,
- on any day on or after May 1 in the year of the regular election that is before nomination day, at a time when the clerk’s office is open; or
- on nomination day, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Voter's List
Confirm, update, or add your information to the Register for provincial, municipal, and school board elections in Ontario.

Eligible Electors
Eligible electors must be:
- a Canadian citizen
- at least 18 years old
- a resident, owner, or tenant of land in the Township of Severn or the spouse of such tenant or owner
- not prohibited from voting under any law
Regardless of the number of priorities you own or rent in the Township, eligible electors are only entitled to vote once during the municipal and school board election.

The Township’s of Oro-Medonte, Severn, Ramara and the City of Orillia are hosting a joint Candidate information session with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) for those individuals who may be interested in running in the 2026 election on:
