Corporate Records Management Program

The Clerk's Office is responsible for the management of Municipal records to meet the Corporation's fiscal, legal, historical and operational requirements.  Working with each Department, staff apply the Township's Records Retention By-law with respect to the retention and destruction of corporate records.

This includes:

  • Creation and regular review of the Township Records Retention By-law;
  • Creation of new Records;
  • Destruction of the Corporate records in accordance with the Municipal Act and Records Retention By-law;
  • Annual archiving of permanent records to County Archives;
  • Development and on-going provision of training to staff with respect to records retention and management.

With financial support from the Provincial Government's Municipal Modernization Funding, the Township completed an Information Records Management Strategy.  This strategy details a number of recommendations to enhance and realize efficiencies in the Township's approach to managing its corporate information.
