2012 Citizen of the Year
Do you know a neighbour, friend or family member who deserves recognition? Why not nominate them to be Oro-Medonte’s 2012 Citizen of the Year?
Nominations briefly outlining the reasons for the recommendation must be submitted in writing and signed by the nominator. To be eligible for the award, a person must be a resident of Oro-Medonte.
Nominations will be accepted at the Township’s Administration Centre in person or by mail. Please include “Citizen of the Year 2012” on the envelope of any mailed submissions. The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 2nd, 2012.
2012 Senior of the Year
The Ontario Senior of the Year Award gives each municipality in Ontario the opportunity to honour one outstanding local senior.
The Township is currently accepting nominations for consideration for 2012 Senior of the Year Award. To be eligible for the award, a person must be a resident of Oro-Medonte, over 65 years of age, and have made their communities better places to live.
Nominations will be accepted at the Township’s Administration Centre in person or by mail. Please include “Senior of the Year 2012” on the envelope of any mailed submissions. The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 2nd, 2012.
2012 Tree Seedling Distribution Program
Severn Sound Environmental Association, North Simcoe Stewardship, and the Township of Oro-Medonte are working together to provide residents with reasonably priced, native tree and shrub seedlings for planting in early spring 2012. Tree seedlings must be pre-ordered. The deadline for ordering is Friday, January 27th, 2012. Program details are available at the Township office and online at www.severnsound.ca/trees.htm
