Health Safety and Human Resources

Through the CAO's office, this division supports Management with the current health and safety issues and ensures employees work in a healthy and safe environment and compliant with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The Health and Safety division is responsible for administering the WSIB program, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability programs, while minimizing legal risk in employment and labour matters. The Human Resources division is responsible to ensure that labour and employee relations governed by collective agreements, policies, practices and legislation contribute to the effectiveness of individuals, groups and teams in achieving corporate goals and objectives.

Mayor Council Support, Management Leadership Policy Development

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is responsible to the Mayor and Members of Council for the coordination and administration of all departments and operations. The CAO ensures the efficient and effective operation of the corporation through management and leadership of the Senior Management Team. The CAO assists in the preparation of the Township's budget, and directs the development of work programs and standards to ensure the delivery of high quality services in a timely, responsible and cost effective manner.

Corporate Strategic Initiatives and Economic Development

The CAO's office is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the ongoing implementation of corporate continuous improvement initiatives. The CAO advises Council on policy matters and provides policy and program development to maximize revenue and/or cost savings in administration of Legal Services, Municipal Law Enforcement, Government Relations, Economic and Tourism Development, and Risk Management.

Corporate Communications/Customer Service

Through the CAO's office, the communications division is responsible in maintaining a welcoming, courteous and professional culture of service excellence to our residents through the implementation of a Corporate Communications Plan. The communications division acts as a media liaison for Township staff, Mayor and Members of Council by ensuring the alignment of key messages to our residents of the Township's strategies, goals, and initiatives emanating from Council.
