Oro-Medonte Fire & Emergency Services and Enbridge Gas Inc. Home Safety Partnership/Initiative
February 22, 2023 - Enbridge Gas Inc. and Oro-Medonte Fire & Emergency Services announced they are working together to improve home safety and bring fire and carbon monoxide-related deaths down to zero.

Notice of Open House & Public Meeting, Official Plan Review for the Township of Oro-Medonte
Take notice that the Township of Oro-Medonte will hold a Virtual Open House on August 31st, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. Please also take notice that the Council of the Township of Oro-Medonte will hold a Virtual Public Meeting on September 8th, 2022 at 5:30 p.m.
The Township of Oro-Medonte Tourism Destination Action Plan Approved
Township of Oro-Medonte Council recently approved a three (3) year Tourism Destination Action Plan.
The plan clearly defines and confirms tourism roles and responsibilities of the Township, and also identifies the importance and benefits of continuing partnerships with tourism focused organizations.
The Township of Oro-Medonte Launches the Craighurst Public Art Project
The Township of Oro-Medonte is pleased to announce that our Craighurst Public Art Project was selected for the My Main Street Community Activator program and has received $40,000 to install unique and beautiful seven-foot tree sculptures at business locations in the village of Craighurst. The sculptures will reflect the natural assets and rich history of Oro-Medonte.
Background Information Regarding Precautionary Boil Water Advisory that was issued by Clearford Waterworks Inc. October 7-10, 2021
Clearford Waterworks Inc. (“Clearford”), the licensed operator for the privately owned and operated Horseshoe Resort well supply; also referred to as Zone 1, issued a precautionary boil water advisory for residents connected to the private Horseshoe Resort well supply on October 7, 2021. The precautionary boil water notice was not applicable to residents connected to the Horseshoe Highlands Municipal Drinking water system.
Following all Provincial regulatory practices, and in consultation with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, Clearford lifted the precautionary boil water advisory on October 10, 2021.

Information Bulletin #1 - Precautionary Boil Water Notice Issued by Clearford Waterworks Inc.
Late last evening (October 7, 2021), the Township became aware of a precautionary boil water notice issued by Clearford Waterworks Inc., for residents that are connected to the private Horseshoe Resort well supply; also referred to as Zone 1. This notice is not applicable to residents connected to the Horseshoe Highlands Municipal Drinking water system.
Information Bulletin #2 - UPDATE Regarding Precautionary Boil Water Noticed Issued by Clearford Waterworks Inc. - October 8, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
This evening the Township received updated information from Clearford Waterworks Inc., the licensed operator for the privately owned and operated Horseshoe Resort well supply; also referred to as Zone 1, regarding the precautionary boil water notice issued on October 7, 2021. This precautionary boil water notice is not applicable to residents connected to the Horseshoe Highlands Municipal Drinking water system.
Information Bulletin #3 - UPDATE - Precautionary Boil Water Notice Issued by Clearford Waterworks Inc. Has Been Lifted - October 10, 2021 at 7:40 p.m.
The Township has been advised by Clearford Waterworks Inc., the licensed operator for the privately owned and operated Horseshoe Resort well supply; also referred to as Zone 1, that the precautionary boil water advisory issued by Clearford Waterworks Inc. on October 7, 2021, has been lifted. This determination was made in accordance with Provincial regulation, and in consultation with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.
Simcoe County Waste Collection Contract Changes
The County's new waste collections contract is set to commence November 2021. The service method of this new contract will be automated cart collection, continuing to utilize every other week collection of garbage and recycling on offsetting weeks with weekly organic pick-ups. While the collection frequency will not change, collection days and times will be affected.
