Short Term Accommodations Update​

Update Regarding Traffic Concerns Associated with the Boots and Hearts Music Festival - August 12, 2023

Earlier today, the Township met with emergency services partners (Ontario Provincial Police etc.) to discuss challenges pertaining to traffic in the vicinity of Burl’s Creek Event Grounds.

Celebrate Simcoe Day & Emancipation Day

Join the celebration and explore the Oro African Methodist Episcopal Church on August 7, 2023. Tours will be available between 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Meet members of the Oro Freedom Institute and a descendant from the original settlers, and learn how the Oro African Methodist Episcopal Church was at the heart of the Black Settlement in Oro Township. The Church and the site it stands on is a tribute to the Black militiamen that served to defend Upper Canada during the War of 1812.​

Simcoe Day, in honour of John Graves Simcoe, Upper Canada's first lieutenant governor and the man who initiated the abolishment of slavery in Canada. The Slavery Abolishment Act, also known as "Emancipation Day", commemorates the freedom secured by Black people throughout the British Empire, including Canada.​​​​

Warminster Canada Post Office Clos​​ure

Canada Post has implemented address changes for some residents of Warminster who have been affected by the closure of the Canada Post Office. Affected customers will/have​​ received a notice ​from Canada Post.

Postage-paid Change of Address cards are available at your local post office.

To assist the affected residents, the Township of Oro-Medonte will be automatically updating the mailing addresses in its databases for these residents. As such, residents affected by the above-noted mailing address changes do not need to advise the Township that their mailing addresses has been updated to “Oro-Medonte”.
Please note, there is no charge for changing addresses on driver’s licences, health cards and ve​hicle registrations. These changes can all be made free of charge, locally at any Service Ontario location or online. When making changes in person, it is recommended to also take a copy of the Canada Post address change notification. For further information, please visit Service Ontario’s website.​

2023 Summer Camp Guide​

​The Township's 2023 Summer Camp G​uide has been released​. Online Summer Camp registration will open on April 12, 2023 at 8:00am. Summer Camp registration must be completed online via our online recreation portal: PerfectMind.​​
