Oro-Medonte Sports Jersey/Cap Day:  In preparation for Rogers Hometown Hockey, the Township is encouraging residents and business owners to​ participate in a Township wide​ sports Jersey/Cap Day on Friday, November 5, 2021.​

Paint the Township Red:  In preparation for Rogers Hometown Hockey, the Township is encouraging residents and business​ owners to Paint the Township red​.​ If you are a local Oro-Medonte Business that is participating in Paint the Township Red please complete this form to be part of the Judging Contest Sign Up Here​


Volunteer Information: Please use the sign-up form to volunteer for the Rogers Hometown Hockey event in the Township of Oro- Medonte @ Horseshoe Resort. There are two different time slots each day for volunteers, you can sign up for more than one day/timeslot if they wish! You will be contacted via email with more details on Wednesday the week of the event. If there are no time slots available, it means that all positions have been filled at this time. ​PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers must be over the age of 16 and show proof of vaccination upon arrival at the festival.​

​​​​Background Information Regarding Precautionary Boil Water Advisory that was issued by Clearford Waterworks Inc. October 7-10, 2021

Clearford Waterworks Inc. (“Clearford”), the licensed operator for the privately owned and operated Horseshoe Resort well supply; also referred to as Zone 1, issued a precautionary boil water advisory for residents connected to the private Horseshoe Resort well supply on October 7, 2021.  The precautionary boil water notice was not applicable to residents connected to the Horseshoe Highlands Municipal Drinking water system.

Following all Provincial regulatory practices, and in consultation with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, Clearford lifted the precautionary boil water advisory on October 10, 2021.

​The following information was provided October 7-10, 2021:​

Information Bulletin #1 - Precautionary Boil Water Notice Issued by Clearford Waterworks Inc.

Late last evening (October 7, 2021), the Township became aware of a precautionary boil water notice issued by Clearford Waterworks Inc​., for residents that are connected to the private Horseshoe Resort well supply; also referred to as Zone 1.  This notice is not applicable to residents connected to the Horseshoe Highlands Municipal Drinking water system. 

Information Bulletin #2 - UPDATE Regarding Precautionary Boil Water Noticed Issued by Clearford Waterworks Inc. - October 8, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.

This evening the Township received updated information from Clearford Waterworks Inc., the licensed operator for the privately owned and operated Horseshoe Resort well supply; also referred to as Zone 1, regarding the precautionary boil water notice issued on October 7, 2021. This precautionary boil water notice is not applicable to residents connected to the Horseshoe Highlands Municipal Drinking water system.

Information Bulletin #3 - UPDATE - Precautionary Boil Water Notice Issued by Clearford Waterworks Inc. Has Been Lifted - October 10, 2021 at 7:40 p.m.​ 

The Township has been advised by Clearford Waterworks Inc., the licensed operator for the privately owned and operated Horseshoe Resort well supply; also referred to as Zone 1, that the precautionary boil water advisory issued by Clearford Waterworks Inc. on October 7, 2021, has been lifted.  This determination was made in accordance with Provincial regulation, and in consultation with the Simcoe Muskoka Distri​ct Health Unit, and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.

​Asphalt Walkway Installation along Lin​e 4 North​, Horseshoe Valley​

To improve active transportation and prepare for future development in the Horseshoe Valley area, the Township is in the process of completing a 2.5m wide asphalt walkway along the east side of Line 4 North, from Highland Drive, to the entrance of Horseshoe Valley Memorial Park.

Partial Closure of Line 2 South for Culvert Replacement Project

Please note a scheduled culvert replacement project is currently underway on Line 2 South in Oro-Medonte. Line 2 South between Highway 11 and Red Oak Crescent in Shanty Bay will be closed for approximately 6 weeks.

Simcoe Co​​unty Waste ​Collection Contract Changes

The County's new waste collections contract is set to commence November 2021. The service method of this new contract will be automated cart collection, continuing to utilize every other week ​collection of garbage and recycling on offsetting weeks with weekly organic pick-ups. While the collection frequency will not change, collection days and times will be affected.​ MORE INFO​
