AG·RI·TOUR·ISM
The Province of Ontario defines agritourism as “those farm-related tourism uses, that promote the enjoyment, education or activities related to the farm operation, including limited accommodation such as a bed and breakfast". Agritourism businesses can include (but are not limited to) on-farm retail, farm tours, accommodations such as bed and breakfasts, or recreation activites such as horseback riding. Oro-Medonte is a Farm Fresh Community, we are a rural municipality and agriculture is an important part of the natural and cultural history and our future.
The rolling farmlands of Oro-Medonte create the perfect setting for both agriculture and tourism. There is an abundance of agriculture opportunities, experiences and locally made products. Whether you are looking to visit adorable animals, buy farm fresh produce, learn about the production of maple syrup, or visit a feild of beautiful flowers, Oro-Medonte is home to many outstanding farms and producers!
