Beach Water Testing

Water is tested from the end of June until September (Labour Day Weekend). Samples are tested for E. coli bacteria by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. The beach may be posted when bacteria has exceeded acceptable levels. A posting is NOT a beach closure; however, swimmers are recommended not to dunk their heads or ingest any water. In addition to water sampling, the Township undertakes regular beach grooming and park maintenance as part of regular operations.

For additional information regarding beach water testing, please visit simcoemuskokahealth.org.
