Appointment to Appeal Committee for Canine Control By-law

The Township has enacted a new Canine Control By-law No. 2011-177 “A By-law to regulate, license and control canines within the Township of Oro-Medonte”.

As a result, the Township of Oro-Medonte is receiving applications for someone who may have experience with dogs and is interested in volunteering as a member of the Appeal Committee.

The Appeal Committee will deliberate on the merits of the evidence presented for appeals related to a Notice to Muzzle when a dog has been declared dangerous pursuant to the Canine Control By-Law.

Applicants are asked to complete the “Appeal Committee – Application Form” found under the Career Opportunities.

2012 Citizen of the Year

Do you know a neighbour, friend or family member who deserves recognition?  Why not nominate them to be Oro-Medonte’s 2012 Citizen of the Year?  
Nominations briefly outlining the reasons for the recommendation must be submitted in writing and signed by the nominator.  To be eligible for the award, a person must be a resident of Oro-Medonte.   
Nominations will be accepted at the Township’s Administration Centre in person or by mail.  Please include “Citizen of the Year 2012” on the envelope of any mailed submissions.  The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 2nd, 2012.



2012 Senior of the Year

The Ontario Senior of the Year Award gives each municipality in Ontario the opportunity to honour one outstanding local senior.
The Township is currently accepting nominations for consideration for 2012 Senior of the Year Award.  To be eligible for the award, a person must be a resident of Oro-Medonte, over 65 years of age, and have made their communities better places to live.
Nominations will be accepted at the Township’s Administration Centre in person or by mail.  Please include “Senior of the Year 2012” on the envelope of any mailed submissions.  The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 2nd, 2012.
