Road Paving Program
More than 200km of roads have been paved in Oro-Medonte over the past four years, leaving just over 40km of gravel roads remaining in the entire Township. Financial savings of more than $900,000 in annual road dust control expenses, environmental benefits associated with the significant reduction in oil application to gravel roads, and enhanced response times by emergency services are just a few of the positive impacts of the program. All was achieved at a cost of less than $27 per $100,000 of residential property assessment.
Road paving projects completed in 2010 include:
- Barrie Terrace
- Colborne Street
- Dunn’s Line Hill
- Foresthome Road
- Huronwoods Drive
- Line 1 from Highway 11 to 5/6 Side Road
- Line 5 from Vasey Road to Peter Street
- Line 5 from Old Barrie Road to Bass Lake Side Road
- Line 8 from Warminster Side Road to Horseshoe Valley Road
- Line 9 from Old Barrie Road to Highway 11
- Line 11 from Mount St. Louis Road to Warminster Side Road
- Line 11 from Old Barrie Road to 15/16 Side Road
- Line 12 from 15/16 Side Road to Highway 11
- Mill Street from the Oro-Medonte Rail Trail to Robinson Street
