Tourism & Economic Development

In the fall of 2009, Oro-Medonte Council established Tourism and Economic Development as a strategic priority for the municipality. Since that time, extensive community consultation has been conducted by Township staff with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Tourism.

This work culminated in the release of the Township’s Economic Development Plan at the September 14th, 2011 Travelling Council Meeting held at Hawkestone Community Hall. Included in the plan are ten Prioritized Economic Development Goals & Strategies that will guide the municipality’s business development initiatives moving forward.
