For the majority of the year, Council will conduct 3 Council meetings per month, consisting of 1 day meeting and 2 evening meetings.
The first Wednesday of the month is scheduled as a day meeting with the public session commencing at 10:00 a.m., while the second and fourth Wednesdays are scheduled as evening meetings with the public session commencing at 7:00 p.m. For the complete Council meeting schedule, please review the 2012 meeting schedule.
A meeting may commence up to 1 hour earlier to deal with Closed Session Items. In the event that Council concludes discussion on the Closed Session Items prior to the public session commencement time, Council will rise and recess and reconvene at the prescribed time for the reporting of the Closed Session Items during the public session. Any matter which is not concluded during the preliminary Closed Session will be carried forward to the Closed Session Items (Unfinished Items) towards the end of the meeting agenda.
Individuals who submit letters and other information to Council and its advisory bodies should be aware that any personal information contained within their communications may become part of the public record and may be made available through the agenda process which includes publication on the Township's website.
All meetings of Council and its advisory bodies are governed by the Township’s Procedural By-law.
Individuals wishing to make a deputation/delegation to Council or its advisory bodies must complete the attached Deputation Form and submit the completed form to the Clerk’s Office by 4:30 p.m. on the Wednesday of the week prior to the preferred meeting.
Under Section 239.1 of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended, any individual may request that an investigation be undertaken to determine whether a municipality or local board has complied with the Municipal Act or its Procedural By-law in respect of a meeting or part of a meeting that was closed to the public.
